Benjamin Quix 

Founder director of the Interregional Symphony Orchestra      
(Limburg-BE).

After  a study  as conductor of instrumental music at the Academy of Music at Genk (BE), he obtained in 2012 his diploma with great distinction.  A year later he graduated in music theory, harmony and composition.

At the Federal Academy Trossingen (DEU)  he studied seven academy phases with corresponding practical phases as “International Juror for music competition”.  He passed the exam and obtained his diplom while the international competition in Diepoldsau  2014 (CH).

At the same Academy he studied under Michael Stecher also professor at the Musikhochschule Zürich the course “Probenmethodik”.

Another important course “Analysis” he was tought by professor Johan Mösenbichler, a university teacher for conducting at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz.

Several masterclasses in conducting with professors Tijmen Botma and Jan Cober followed.

In August 2020 he took part in the International Masterclasses under Master Teacher Maestro Alim Shakh with the “Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra” (Czech Republic)  and in the same year  with the Budapest “Danube Symphony Orchestra  led  by Prof. Andras Deak (Hungary).

Another  successfully International Masterclass in 2021 in Bucharest (Romania) under  Maestro Jin Wang,  the first Asianborn conductor who was awarded Professor for Conduct, Orchestra Education and Music-judging in Europe in Stockholm.

In December 2021, by invitation he worked  with the Berlin Sinfonietta in a Masterclass on the theme of Beethoven’s 250 years, led by the American  Maestro Mark Laycock.  The Berlin Sinfonietta is one of the most prominent in the landscape of Berlin’s professional orchestras. The orchestra plays regulary in the most important concert halls in Berlin and its surroundings, such as the Philharmonie and the Konzerthaus Berlin.

Internationally acclaimed conductor Mark Laycock was Music Director of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra for more than 20 years, and has conducted more than 2.000 works in appearances with among others orchestras of Londen, Paris, Moscow, Kiev, Philadelphia….. As as published composer, his works have been performed by the Berliner Symphoniker, Philadelphia Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and others.

Since that time, conductor Benjamin Quix has regularly studied in Berlin with the meanwhile befriended teacher and mentor to expand his artistic knowledge and repertoire.
